Throughout Years 10 -11, including GCSE PE, students will experience a wide variety of sports during curriculum. These sports include: netball, football, rugby, table tennis, badminton, basketball, dance, gymmnastics, trampolining, short tennis, tennis, orienteering, hockey, rounders, cricket, benchball, dodgeball, athletics,  softball, HRF, stoolball, cricket, vollyball, cross country, boccia, swimming and climbing.

In addition to the AQA GCSE in PE students have the option to choose a Sports Science GCSE in Health and Fitness which is geared towards students who enjoy sport and would like to study the subject further and gain a level 2 qualification without the practical assessment of the GCSE course.  Student's study training methods, principles of training, diet, body systems, the benefits of exercise and many other issues concerning health and fitness. 

Students also have the opportunity to attend lunchtime and after school clubs in a variety of these sports throughout the year. This can then lead to students being chosen to represent the school in friendly matches, league matches and tournaments against other schools as well as at the annual district sports athletics competition.

KS4 students regularly have the opportunity to take part in Inter house competitions for a variety of sports throughout the year. This also includes our annual sports day when all students take part in at least one event from either track or field as well as the  inter house swimming gala which includes a water polo tournament. The students gain house points which go towards their final points score for the house trophy. This is presented at the end of every school year to the house with the highest points total.
