Aspire and Challenge

The Aspire and Challenge Group is made up of students that have been highlighted as high performing in each of the years. They have come into school with high KS2 scores and we have high hopes for them.

In July 2018 they were set a summer project where they had to create a presentation based on a person that they found inspirational. The project was based on 4 questions:

  • Why do you think this person is inspirational?
  • What do you think are the special qualities that make this person a leader?
  • What barriers did this person have to overcome to reach their goals?
  • In what ways may this person help change your own actions and habits?

The results were varied, thorough and interesting (you’d expect nothing less from the ‘Aspire and Challenge’ lot!) Among the persons mentioned were Barack Obama, Marie Curie and King Haakon. It is hoped that other students reading and looking at these presentations can get inspired too and aspire to make an impact on the community in which they live.

We look forward to this group attending university trips and workshops, entering competitions, getting help with career paths and generally being stretched and challenged in all lessons.

We are sure the students will enjoy the programme and we look forward to them reaping the results from this enrichment as they progress through their school journey.
