Attendance and Punctuality
Absence Procedures
In the event of absence, parents are requested to report this by either using the MCAS app, ringing the Absence Line on 01483 239 220 or email attendance@Broadwater.surrey.sch.uk by 8.30am on a daily basis Emails sent to any other email address may not be picked up by the attendance team and this may result in the absence being recorded as unauthorised.
We are aware that there will be occasions where medical appointments will be arranged by the hospital/orthodontist/CAMHS and cannot be changed. In these instances, please can you inform the school in advance and provide us with a copy of the letter/email confirming the appointment. We would also remind you that all routine GP, dental and optician appointments should be made outside the school day to minimise the disruption to learning. These are important procedures in helping to ensure the safety and welfare of all our students.
Parents should not take students out of school during term time. Holiday requests will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
Please download a Leave of Absence Form if required.
The attendance team will send an MCAS message to parents of students who are not present for registration and are absent without permission in the first instance and follow up with a telephone call if no response is received.
