We are running a reduced programme in Challenge Hour due to Covid restrictions in school and students should speak to the teacher running the activity to make sure it is taking place. All activities will be carried out in year group bubbles and within the year group bubble zone in school.
There are many opportunities for extra-curricular and sporting activities during lunch time and after school and the Library Resources Centre is open every day including lunchtime and after school for reading, further study and homework.
(During non-Covid times): Activities which take place either during lunchtime or after school include: Art, archery, athletics, badminton, band, basketball, bookshop, choir, chess, Christian Union, design and technology, cricket, dance, drama, football, gardening, gymnastics, hockey, netball, photography, rugby, tennis, trampoline, volleyball, health related fitness, computer club and electronics club.
Students also have the opportunity to learn musical instruments with extra-curricular music lessons linked to various school groups, bands and choir.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
The school offers the opportunity for students to take part in the highly successful award scheme at both bronze and silver awards. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain experiences of outdoor expeditions and community service.
