Challenge Week June 2018

Dear Year 7-9 Parents and Carers

    Challenge Week 25th - 29th June 2018

During this week, Year 7, 8 and 9 students will be involved in Challenge Week.  There are different activities each day and a variety of trips that the students have signed up for. The week will culminate on Friday after a morning of activities with the whole of Year 7, 8 and 9 taking in part in the ‘Race for Life’ where students can walk, jog or run 5km in aid of cancer research. The race will include a 75ft inflatable assault course.    For this reason it will be Mufti all week and we suggest that students bring a change of clothes with them on Friday to take on the course.

We are anticipating very hot weather during this week, so please supply students with appropriate clothing and sun hats, sun cream and water bottles.

Although the timetable will be collapsed, students should register as normal with their tutors at the beginning of each day. Break and lunch times will also be at the same time.   Please report any student absences in the normal way by phoning the school as soon as possible.

Students will be advised of where they need to be by their tutors on a daily basis or they can check the lists outside Mrs Hanson’s office opposite student services.

We do not anticipate anything other than perfect behaviour over the course of the week and I would like to remind those students that are going out on trips that they are ambassadors for the school. Students should be aware that the behaviour policy still applies and students will be removed from activities and detention set if necessary.

    Yours faithfully

    Mr J Reed

    Challenge Week Coordinator
