Y11 'Tea and Toast' Parent Evening
For selected Y11 students/ parents. Letters have been sent home to the selected students.
Dear Y11 Parent
As we approach the last few months before the exams we want to support the year 11 students as much as we possibly can. With this in mind we are planning an additional layer of support for a selection of students who we feel have the potential to achieve even better grades in the summer exams. We have looked at the teachers’ professional predicted grades and compared these with what we think your child is capable of achieving and we would like to work with you in order to improve their grades.
You are receiving an invitation to attend an additional parents’ evening on the 22nd February 2018 where you will have the opportunity to meet with their subject teachers to discuss what they are doing well and what they need to do to improve their grades. Appointments will be available from 4:00 – 5:00pm then at 5:00pm there will be a short presentation to all students and parents and then appointments will continue from 5:30 – 6:30.
We would like to request that your child completes some independent work from 3:20-4:20pm every day after school. As an incentive during afternoon registration the students will be allowed to go to the bistro where they will be able to help themselves to hot drinks and toast. These ‘Tea and Toast’ sessions will take place in room 208 and be supervised by a member of teaching staff. These sessions will be an opportunity for students to complete some silent independent work. Revision guides and past papers will be available for the students to use. During the parents’ evening staff will advise you and your child what activities they should complete during these revision sessions.
