Broadwater School, situated between Godalming and Guildford in Surrey is a co-educational comprehensive school for students aged 11 – 16. Parent Governor at Broadwater School
We are seeking nominations for parents to stand for election as a Parent Governor of Broadwater School.
Parent governors are elected as directed by Schedule 1, Regulation 6 of The School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012. Nominations for parent governor vacancies are made by parents/carers of pupils registered at the school. Should there be more nominations than vacancies a secret ballot will be held. Parents/carers of registered pupils attending the school may offer themselves for election. Parent governors can serve for a term of up to four years irrespective of how long their child remains as a registered pupil of the school.

COVER MANAGER/COVER SUPERVISOR
Required from June 2018
Salary: Surrey Pay Grade SN5 (Term time only + 5 inset days - 39 weeks)
£19,245 -£21,796 (pro rata £16,329-18,494) per annum
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic colleague to lead the Cover Team. You will be required to manage and record staff absences, arranging planned and unplanned teaching staff cover and room changes using SIMS software, as well as liaising with outside agencies to source teaching supply cover.
The Cover Manager will also supervise lessons for absent colleagues which will include leading the lesson which has been set by the class teacher/department. The classroom based part of the role will be to give instruction and to ensure an appropriate climate for learning. You will be required to respond to pupils’ requirements in the lesson and ensure adherence to school policies for upholding the highest expectations and support for students to succeed, under the professional direction of teachers.
You should ideally be educated to at least A Level, with a high level of literacy and numeracy skills. You need to be an excellent communicator, have sound organisational skills and be able to work confidently using your own initiative. Previous experience is desirable, as is knowledge of behaviour management strategies and how to motivate young people. An understanding of SIMS would be beneficial although training will be available for the right candidate.
This is a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the school. The successful applicant must be IT literate, have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and able to remain calm whilst working under pressure.
This role would be ideal for candidates wishing to gain valuable classroom experience; possibly as a precursor to teacher training or studying for a classroom support qualification. But would equally suit individuals who believe in the power of education to change lives and communities, and wish to contribute to the lives of young people.

BROADWATER SCHOOL MINIBUS DRIVER
Required from September 2018
Salary Range: £8.64 to £9.44 p/h dependant on skills and experience
Hours: Part-time term time only, 38 weeks per year
We are looking for an individual who is MIDAS trained or who has the D1 on their licence to maintain and drive the school minibus. You will be required to transport our students each morning and afternoon.
We are looking for an individual who will be flexible, able to work additional hours by agreement to transport students to and from school events and fixtures with an accompanying adult.
