ADMIN ASSISTANT - SEND
32.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per year
Salary Range: Surrey Pay PS5 £21,169 - £23,367
To start as soon as possible, An Admin Assistant to provide support to the busy Learning Support department. The successful applicant will have a lively engaging personality with a proactive approach and be sensitive to the special needs of the students. Able to work on their own initiative with a flexible approach.

- Provide admin support for students on the SEN register who are statemented in the form of Annual Surrey Review paperwork and coordination of Annual Surrey Review Meetings and calendar.
- Provide admin support for SEN transport arrangements
- Oversee and carry out regular updates on the Code of Practice Register, census etc.
- Day to day admin duties including writing letters, dealing with correspondence, photocopying, filing, ordering stationary etc.
- Data input for SEN
- Organising Multi Agency Meetings and minute taking
- Coordinate Access Arrangements for exams and liaise with Exams Officer
- Regular meeting with SENCO and COIN Centre Lead Teacher
- Produce and manage Provision Maps
- Ad hoc support of students who use the SEN office sofas as a safe zone.
- Cross school liaison with regards to student welfare and safeguarding
- A good level of education.
- Empathy with teenagers.
- Sympathetic approach to those with learning, social and behavioural difficulties.
- Ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, teachers and outside agencies.
- Good IT, administrative and organisational skills.

Broadwater School are seeking Exam Invigilators and Scribers for Exams starting in January 2019
The Invigilator’s Role
An invigilator is the person in the examination room responsible for conducting the exam. They have "a key role in upholding the integrity of the external examination/assessment process".
- Ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities
- Ensure the security of the examination beforehand, during and afterwards
- Prevent possible candidate malpractice
- Prevent possible administrative failures
Invigilators must be familiar with the instructions outlined by the examining board. They must give their full attention to conducting the exam properly and inform the head of the centre if they have any concerns about the exam process.
Students who require additional support on a one-to-one basis may need to sit their exam separately to other students. The role of invigilator can be combined with the role of prompter, reader and/or scribe. Where a candidate is accommodated separately, an independent invigilator is needed if the student requires:
- An oral language modifier
- A practical assistant
- A reader/computer reader
- Scribe/speech recognition technology
These positions offer flexibility through the exam period and is a fantastic way to gain experience in schools.
