Vacancies

Broadwater School, situated between Godalming and Guildford in Surrey is a co-educational comprehensive school for students aged 11 – 16. Its modern and well-equipped school buildings are situated in spacious grounds with extensive sports facilities.  The mainline station of Farncombe is 10 minutes’ walk from the school and is on the main Waterloo to Portsmouth line.

Youth Specialist, Broadwater School, Godalming

Job Title: Youth Specialist
Location: Broadwater School, Summers Rd, Godalming GU7 3BW
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including occasional evenings and an annual residential
Length of Contract: Permanent Term Time plus 10 days
Rate of pay: £20,770 to £24,380 (£23K to £27K FTE equivalent)
Responsible to: Youth Work Manager at Eikon/ Manager at Broadwater
Holiday Entitlement: Term Time contract
Pension: Eikon’s Company Pension Plan

Eikon is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Youth Specialist. This role is to provide sustained support to vulnerable young people at Broadwater School, helping them to overcome issues, before they become potentially life-changing problems. The core work will be providing one to one mentoring and group work activities that develop happy, thriving and resilient young adults who will contribute positively to society.

PART-TIME TEACHING ASSISTANT FOR THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

3 days per week (21 hours) / 39 weeks /year

Salary SN3 £16,991 (pro rata £8,449)

Required September 2017, a TA LTAH to work within the English Department, who can provide in-class support to students at all ability levels.  The successful candidate will also need to co-ordinate the highly successful ‘Accelerated Reader’ programme, providing data to teaching staff and monitoring pupil progress.  Candidates will be qualified at least to A level in English and be able to use and develop ICT effectively to support and enhance learning. The post requires a well organised and committed professional who is able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

TEACHING ASSISTANT  Level 1  

Salary SN3 £16,991 (pro rata £13,679.46)

34 hours/week, 39 weeks/year         

Required from September 2017, a Teaching Assistant to work in a successful professional team of teachers and support staff to include all students into the life of the school. You will be using strategies to help make the difference to the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities specifically those with Autism.  The successful candidate will have a good standard level of education.  IT skills are desirable.
